Long COVID, also known as post-COVID conditions, long-haul COVID, post-COVID-19 condition, chronic COVID or post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC), is a condition in which individuals infected with COVID-19 continue to experience a wide range of symptoms for weeks and even months after their initial infection [1][2][5]. Symptoms can include extreme tiredness, shortness of breath, chest pain or tightness, problems with memory and concentration ("brain fog"), headaches and muscle aches [6]. Long Covid has been estimated to affect up to 4 million working age Americans (18 - 65) [9], although the exact prevalence is still unknown. It is recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an ongoing health problem that may be covered under Titles II (state and local government) and III (public accommodations) of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)[4] . Research into mechanisms underlying long Covid are ongoing[3], as well as research into treatments[7][8].

Long COVID is a term used to describe the long-term effects of COVID-19. It refers to symptoms that persist for weeks or months after initial infection, including fatigue, shortness of breath, and difficulty concentrating. Other potential long-term effects include heart damage, lung scarring, and neurological issues such as depression and anxiety. Research into Long COVID is ongoing but it appears that some people may experience these symptoms for an extended period of time.
